Aura Hernandez has been living in a church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for more than a year. She describes how she ended up taking sanctuary at the 4th Universal Unitarian church, and her reaction to the song Denise Reis wrote inspired by her story.

Singer, guitarist and composer Denise Reis was born in Belo Horizonte, in southeastern Brazil. She has performed all over the world, and has even composed and performed a song for the Dalai Lama.
